50 NGOs trained in data strategy in Senegal

PRA-TIC (Project to strengthen civil society organizations (CSOs) adapted to information and communication technologies (CSOs) is an initiative of the Platform of European NGOs in Senegal, developed with the support of Spanish Cooperation.

The project is mainly aimed at improving the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in CSOs for better project management and more reliable data collection

More specifically, the project has two objectives:

Strengthen the knowledge and skills of CSOs in ICT through the establishment of essential office automation tools, software for managing, collecting and analyzing data adapted to CSOs
Create and manage a digital space for the sharing of knowledge and the sharing of key multi-sectoral development data in Senegal in open access (open source).

The implementation of the project was carried out through several types of activities:

Overview of the rate of penetration and use of ICTs in CSOs, through a digital maturity diagnosis in which more than 100 organizations participated
Organization of a dozen training sessions on the use of ICTs
Training in harmonized digital data collection for 50 civil society organizations
Individual support from 30 Civil Society Organizations
Elaboration, online and animation of a digital space for the harmonized collection of data
